Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for creating, growing, and managing an account base. Accountable to directly identify and initiate development efforts. Develop and execute a field sales business plan that will achieve the corporate revenue goals. You will be accountable for directly identifying and initiating business development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develops new business
- Identify, initiate and engage with clients that provide sustained and profitable revenue streams across multiple services
- Develop and execute a business plan that will achieve sales quota and budget as defined by the company
- Work closely with local, regional and international operations staff to ensure customers’ needs and expectations are met
- Present an array of logistics solutions that enable numerous entry points into accounts
- Support and consult with existing customers as well as further develop a professional cooperation
- Conduct sales and negotiation meetings
- Process customer correspondence
- Prepare and assemble accompanying documents (offers, concepts, presentations, etc.)
- Plan, organize and execute customer visits
- Record and ensure data maintenance in the CRM as well as for cross-departmental topics in the CRM
- Implement regular review meetings
- Ensure communication between Sales/Customer Service, Operations, and Management
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Completed further training as a forwarding specialist
- 5+ years of relevant business-to-business sales experience in the Supply Chain Industry preferred
- Demonstrated work experience in process implementation, customer service, and logistics preferably in/for the Life Science sector
- Ability to work independently and in a group environment
- Fluent oral and written English is a must. Ability to speak Dutch is beneficial.
- Applies comprehensive concepts within the field
- Resolves complex problems with independent action
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think and respond quickly to sales and service issues
- Demonstrates considerable judgment in selecting methods
- Strong presentation skills and effective follow-up skills
- Strong customer and service orientation
- Flexibility, resilience, and willingness to change
- Considerable travel is required
