Facility Engineer Lead (Pharma Manufacturing Expansion Project)
For a major pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion project in the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Facility Engineer Lead to oversee the facility engineering scope of a high-complexity GMP environment.
About the Project
The project involves the conversion and expansion of an existing pharmaceutical production facility, creating new manufacturing and support areas to accommodate future operations. The scope includes facility upgrades, HVAC systems, utilities, infrastructure improvements, and building modifications within a regulated GMP environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the facility engineering scope, including:
- Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA)
- HVAC systems
- Building utilities
- Fire protection systems
- Associated facility infrastructure
- Support the development and review of facility concepts, Basis of Design documentation, and detailed engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate engineering activities throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning, qualification, and handover phases.
- Review technical documentation, engineering calculations, specifications, and supplier deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, GMP requirements, EHS standards, and internal engineering guidelines.
- Participate in risk assessments, constructability reviews, safety reviews, and GMP evaluations.
- Interface with multidisciplinary teams including process engineering, automation, utilities, operations, quality, procurement, and contractors.
- Support commissioning, qualification, operational readiness, and project close-out activities.
- Maintain project documentation and contribute to project reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience as a Facility Engineer, Facility Lead, Project Engineer, or similar role within the pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries.
- Proven experience with facility design, construction, and commissioning projects.
- Knowledge of GMP environments and engineering standards.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Details:
- Hybrid role in Haarlem. Minimum 3 days per week on-site.
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: This is a 7-month project, with the possibility of extension
